Changes in Policy
Dear 4E2,
It was very nice to hear all your thoughts. That's what the journal is all about - putting your thoughts into the written word.
Feel free to tell me about other things, not just the answer to my questions.
Okay. Now, the government is doing a good job in trying to listen to feedback from people. For example, they've never agreed to a 5-day work week before because they said that it wasn't possible. However, they've begun to realise that it helps family life. So now, Mrs Hee doesn't have to work on Saturdays.
Can you think of any situation where the Government has changed a policy or law due to public feedback?
The government is especially interested in what the youth of Singapore have to say. Do you think the people of your generation have valid and constructive ideas that could help build the Singapore of tomorrow?
One last question, which none of you have answered so far...

How about his previous occupation before he went into politics?
hihi..it's me..he is a Ophthalmologist at the Singapore National Eye Centre.
I ask my friend, then she say about the chinese scheme..
last time, the chinese textbook is too difficult,then the parent protest and the pilicy change. that the primary sch pupils dun need read too difficult chinese textbooks so the chinese syllablus is easier and then everyone chinese standard is not so good.
i think the people of our generation have valid and constructive ideas. We cant just follow the rule the gov made,sometimes the rule dun fit with the situation and it should be change. I dun noe a lot about spore gov's law..but there is 1 thing i wonder y..the prime minister LKY,GCT,and now LKY..they all have relationship..how to say ar..like they still got this kind of family relationship..then the politic party is like only 1 party loh..den how bout the other sporean? they got right to choose their prime minister,right?coz the PM is the one rule the sg loh..then y i dun see got general election for prime minister?y not the sporean choose their PM?y must the previous PM choose 1?then..how about the president?i see tt the President is dont do much job..most of the works r PM do 1..then wad the president wad for?juz showing the face on national day meh?
ps: sorry,sporean..i just wandering 4 the answer..n sorry if u dun understand wad i'm talking about..my el very lousy..hehe

mrs hee..u havent told us the reason y u want to leave us..i'm very sad..it is very fast..u only taught us not even one month..1 thing for sure, i have an enjoyable time with u..thx for everything..btw i still keep practising 'she'..very difficult..i dun even noe whether i've pronounced it correctly or not..
oh ya, u r the first english t'cher tt noe i cant pronounced 'h'..i'm very touched with this..after i have more than 8 english t'cher (including tuition),no one noe tt..GBU
